Job Overview
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work with Professor Robin Cleveland at the Department of Engineering Science, Institute of Biomedical Engineering. The goal of the project is to demonstrate that low-intensity ultrasound can be targeted to specific locations in the brain and modify neural oscillations.
About the Project
The study will be carried out with patients who have Parkinson's Disease and devices implanted to monitor neural oscillations. This allows us to directly monitor how ultrasound affects the oscillations.
Your Role
You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be near completion) in experimental psychology, motor neuroscience, neurophysiology, biomedical engineering or a related area, together with relevant experience. You should have experience developing, carrying-out and analysing data for neurostimulation trials using ultrasound.
Requirements
- A PhD/DPhil in a relevant field (experimental psychology, motor neuroscience, neurophysiology, biomedical engineering or a related area)
- Relevant experience in neurostimulation trials using ultrasound
- Excellent communication skills to communicate with participants in a sensitive and respectful way
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of researchers
Working Arrangements
This is a fixed-term position funded by the Rosetrees Foundation for up to 3 years.
