Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Microbiologist to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.



Key Responsibilities

Essential Criteria

  • FRCPath or equivalent
  • Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
  • Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT


Desirable Criteria

  • High standard of knowledge and expertise in the diagnosis and management of patients with infection across the whole healthcare system
  • Clinical Governance
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of clinical microbiology problems both emergency and elective and in primary care.
