Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to lead our design function for critical water schemes in the South West region. As a key member of our project teams, you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions that meet client needs and drive project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Develop and implement cutting-edge design solutions that align with client objectives and project requirements.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
  • Design Oversight: Oversee the entire design process, from initial tender to final construction, applying technical expertise and value engineering principles.
  • Sustainability: Lead the integration of modern construction methods that drive efficiency and sustainability.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize KPIs to track design progress and ensure projects remain on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
Requirements
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage, plan, and report on design functions with a clear focus on program delivery.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office, collaborative platforms, and experience with project management software like P6 (or similar).
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong background in the water industry and construction, with a deep understanding of technical design standards.
  • Qualifications: A degree in a relevant construction field and professional certifications such as C.Eng or MCIOB are preferred.
