Job Title: Residential Deputy Manager

Location: Penrith

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to ££. (including sleep in shifts)

Hours: hours per week - shift pattern on rotation

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a Residential Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our children's home, providing leadership and support to our staff, and ensuring the highest standards of care for our young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place and reflects the needs of our young people.
  • Develop effective communication strategies and systems to support staff in their duties.
  • Manage and develop quality direct services to young people, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Identify and meet staff training and development needs, and assist in training staff as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and maintain the condition of the building.
  • Manage finance budgets, control, administration, and records in line with company expectations.
  • Promote and implement Equality and Diversity policies and Child Protection Procedures.
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team, and service quality levels.
  • Establish and manage team communications systems, ensuring company procedures and policies are effectively communicated.
  • Provide vision and leadership to staff, ensuring effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management.
  • Manage a designated budget, ensuring value for money and early identification of financial irregularities.
  • Supervise and appraise staff, following company procedures.
  • Ensure confidentiality and adhere to company policies.
  • Participate in the induction programme and CWDC -day course.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care.
  • Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work well as part of a small team.
  • DBS check at enhanced level (paid for by the company).
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work (advantageous).
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other Residential Homes as needed.
