Are you a seasoned Finance Director looking for a new challenge? FD Recruit is partnering with a successful business in the Scottish Highlands to appoint a highly skilled finance leader. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial leadership, with a strong track record of developing and implementing financial strategies, managing cash flow, and leading financial teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Financial Strategies: Align financial goals with operational objectives and long-term business vision, ensuring effective management of financial resources, and driving business growth through strategic financial planning, which considers the company's overall business strategy and market conditions.
  • Lead Annual Budgeting Process: Prepare regular financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business needs, and overseeing the development of comprehensive budget plans, which are aligned with the company's overall business strategy and provide a clear roadmap for financial management.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards, and providing actionable insights to executive teams, which inform business decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability, optimising cash management strategies across all properties, and minimising the risk of financial instability, which can impact the company's ability to meet its financial obligations.
  • Financial Controls: Maintain robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures, and implementing processes to mitigate financial risks, which can impact the company's financial health and reputation.
  • Financial Performance Analysis: Analyse financial performance, identifying opportunities for operational improvements, and providing strategic recommendations to drive business growth, which can lead to increased revenue and market share.
  • Integration of Financial Operations: Oversee the integration of financial operations for newly acquired businesses, standardising processes, aligning with corporate financial policies, and ensuring a smooth transition, which enables the company to realise the full potential of its acquisitions.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and manage costs across departments, identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies and optimise resource allocation, and implementing cost-saving initiatives, which can help to reduce expenses and improve profitability.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets and financial stability, and maintaining a proactive approach to risk management, which helps to prevent financial losses and reputational damage.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing training to enhance team capabilities, and promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment, which drives employee engagement and motivation.
  • External Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and financial institutions, representing the company's financial interests, and ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement, which helps to build trust and credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Finance Systems and Technology: Oversee finance systems and technology, implementing improvements to streamline processes, improve financial reporting accuracy and efficiency, and enhancing data-driven decision-making, which enables the company to make informed business decisions and drive growth.
