UK Finance Director

Athwal Resourcing Ltd is seeking a seasoned Finance Controller to lead the finance function of a growing company near Birmingham. As the UK Finance Controller, you will be responsible for heading up the UK company's finance function, covering all accounting, compliance, controls, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting areas.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain a robust financial and operational control environment, adhering to necessary internal control standards.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to the finance team, managing three direct reports.
- Business Partnering: Foster strong relationships with the UK Management Team and colleagues, providing financial insights to drive operational and financial performance.
- Audit and Tax: Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring financial statements are completed and filed within agreed deadlines.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process for the UK business and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Transfer Pricing: Prepare, review, and implement the company's transfer pricing strategy.
- Treasury Management: Oversee day-to-day treasury functions, ensuring efficient cash management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, UK government statistics, and R&D claims.
- ERP Implementation: Assist in the UK financial aspects of implementing the new Global ERP system.
- Capital Expenditure: Prepare capital expenditure requests and support EMEA Management with updated costings of major projects.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and financial controls, with a background in audit or controls environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support internal stakeholders.
- Previous experience of leading a finance team.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities for board reporting.
- Commercially aware with an open growth mindset.
- Experienced user of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
