About The Role

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Defence Programme Expert

Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy, and we are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on Defence programmes, which are the most technical and complex challenges facing us today, helping to keep the UK safe from current and future threats.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Operate with NEC forms of contract, including Option A, B, C, and E, as well as bespoke forms of contract.
  • Track total costs, including hours, third-party, and consumables, for manufacturing.
  • Attend meetings relating to cost and progress.
  • Provide cost reports and summaries as required.
  • Review third-party and consumable costs for disallowed items and check sub-contract invoices for errors and mis-bookings.
  • Maintain a live completion date tracker.
  • Review supplier commercial reports for accuracy.
  • Maintain awareness of key issues that can affect cost, time, and quality.
  • Liaise with head office when queries are raised, including estimating, budget holders, and seniors.
  • Liaise with site quality teams regarding rework and major issues.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, preferably in the Nuclear, Civil Engineering, or Engineering sectors. A broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Supply Chain, Cost, and Commercial Management is essential. Experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite, and Public Contract Regulations 2015 would be beneficial.
