Job Overview:

A key opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Surgeon to join our urology team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality urological services across North, East and West Cumbria.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Surgeon with expertise in urology to lead our clinical teams and drive innovation in patient care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other services within the Trust to provide prompt and effective interventions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the 24/7 urology emergency rota, working as the surgeon-of-the-week on a 1 in 6 week basis
  • Develop and implement research projects to improve patient outcomes
  • Lead training and education initiatives for junior medical staff and students

Requirements:

  • Valid full registration with the General Medical Council
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent
  • Relevant CCT, CESR or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC)
  • On the Specialist Register for the above or within 6 months of being admitted to the Register
