We are seeking a Principal Policy Lead to join Ofwat’s Major Projects and Markets Directorate. This role will contribute to our purpose of driving water companies to deliver more for customers and the environment.



The successful candidate will have skills and experience in formulating, presenting, and writing clear and concise evidence-based advice to inform policy making, decision building and recommendations. They will be able to effectively plan, prioritise and deliver large projects and programmes of work both directly and by managing multi-disciplinary teams.



Key Responsibilities


  • Formulate and present evidence-based advice to inform policy making, decision building and recommendations.
  • Plan, prioritise and deliver large projects and programmes of work.
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Influence and collaborate effectively to deliver desired outcomes.


As a member of the Major Projects and Markets Directorate, you will be part of a team that oversees the markets in the water sector to ensure they are working for customers. You will work closely with other teams to deliver our strategy and make a meaningful impact in the sector.
