Salary

A competitive hourly rate of £13.00 per hour is offered, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay, making it an attractive opportunity for those passionate about contributing to the educational growth of children.

Job Description

This role involves working as a general teaching assistant with Reception pupils, providing support and guidance to help them thrive during this important stage of their education.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils by adopting a calm and nurturing approach.
  • Support children during the transition period to ensure they feel prepared and confident.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, such as phonics sessions and targeted interventions.
  • Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
  • Support all students, including those with additional needs, to promote inclusion and engagement.
  • Contribute to a positive and welcoming school culture.
  • Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment for young learners.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
  • Relevant experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding practices.
