**Job Summary**

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the UM for National Indigenous Australians Agency in the Kimberley Region. As an Engagement Officer, you will be part of a sub-regional team and report directly to the Engagement Assistant Director providing support, leadership and advice.

The role involves working closely with First Nations communities, service providers, and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes in line with community aspirations on behalf of the Australian Government.

You will engage with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and service providers, or be involved in the development of programs and policy, requiring a high level of cultural competency.

We are seeking results-oriented individuals who possess strong engagement, communication, and administration skills. Our ideal candidates will maximize opportunities to support integrated service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Engagement Assistant Director in the delivery of engagement activities across the Kimberley Region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with First Nations communities, service providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to the Engagement Assistant Director and sub-regional teams.
  • Participate in the development of programs and policies that support the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, indigenous studies, public administration).
  • High-level cultural competency and ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays, and possess a current Driver's License.

Salary:** **$94,715 - $106,438**

This is a permanent position based in the Kimberley Region. We offer flexible working arrangements, temporary housing assistance, and a supportive work environment.
