Project Details

We are currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to work on our Harker Substation project in Carlisle, Cumbria. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and quality are maintained throughout the project.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a prompt start project with a strong construction site background. The successful candidate will have experience with reinforced concrete, groundworks, and steel frame buildings. You will be responsible for establishing the level and survey control for contracts, setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, and ensuring regular checks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain the level and survey control for contracts.
  • Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring regular checks.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant records with organisational and legal requirements.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems promptly.
  • Produce procurement schedules, ITPs, Task Briefings, Site Diaries, and Allocation Sheets.
  • Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure work is delivered defect-free and highlight value engineering opportunities.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong construction site background.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete, groundworks, and steel frame buildings.
  • Competency in setting out and surveying.
  • Relevant degree or HNC in Civil Engineering.
  • CSCS card and SMSTS qualification (desirable).

Estimated salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum depending on experience.
