Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group work to children with SEND
  • Assist with classroom management and support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
  • Work closely with other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans for children with SEND
  • Build positive relationships with children and their families, and provide emotional support and guidance as needed
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of SEND and inclusive education principles
  • Ability to work effectively with children who have additional needs and to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Patient and empathetic approach, with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Minimum of 6 months Primary experience and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to provide 2 or more references covering the last 3 years and hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service
