Job Summary

The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Secretary to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Medical Secretarial team within the Division of Surgery and Women's & Children's Services.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the team in managing clinical pathways, booking and scheduling patient appointments, typing clinics, dealing with queries, managing and administrating results, and supporting the delivery of the RTT targets for the department.

Key Requirements

  • Typing qualifications to RSA II or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology/AMSPAR qualification
  • Good general standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Previous digital/audio typing experience
  • Secretarial experience in a clinical environment
  • Working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Working knowledge and experience of using NHS systems
