This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technologies, including robotic welding, pick-and-place systems, and Keyence PLCs and vision systems. As a key member of the engineering team, you will design, implement, and continuously improve automated processes within a dynamic production environment.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for developing and implementing automation solutions, optimizing production processes, and increasing efficiency. This role combines elements of process engineering, project management, and technical troubleshooting to support the company's ambitious goals in production efficiency and automation.

  1. Automation Design: Develop and implement automation solutions that optimize production processes and increase efficiency.
  2. Process Optimization: Analyze production workflows to integrate automation technologies, such as robotic welding, pick-and-place, and vision systems.
  3. Collaboration with Suppliers: Partner with equipment suppliers to ensure designs prioritize safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  4. Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues in automated production systems, including PLCs (experience with Keyence PLCs and vision systems preferred but not essential).
  5. Cross-Functional Support: Work with Production Engineering and Maintenance to install automated systems and support continuous process improvements.
  6. Documentation & Standards: Develop and manage engineering documents, adhering to IATF standards.
  7. Team Collaboration: Provide guidance to production engineers working together to make improvements and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  1. Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming and fault-finding (experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Keyence PLCs beneficial).
  2. Automation & Robotics Expertise: Strong knowledge of automation systems, robotics, pneumatic systems, and production mechanical systems.
  3. Production Engineering Documentation: Experience with FMEA, process flow diagrams, and maintaining compliance with IATF standards.
  4. Project & Investment Management: Familiarity with budgeting, capital investments, and ROI-focused planning for production equipment.
  5. Degree in Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  6. Preferred Experience: Background in electronics or automotive manufacturing, and familiarity with production efficiency practices (OEE, maintenance planning).

This role offers a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, providing a comprehensive compensation package for a skilled Process & Automation Engineer.
