The role of the Commissioning Manager at Bury Council is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism.

As a Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for commissioning services from a range of Care Providers, contributing to and implementing commissioning strategies that deliver change, and leading on the creation of innovative approaches to high-quality, affordable, and outcomes-focused services.

You will work with providers to ensure people are encouraged to develop their strengths and skills so they can live as independently as possible. This requires a thorough knowledge of legislation governing social care and national and local strategies relevant to health and social care needs.

A good knowledge of commissioning and strategy, combined with excellent communication and negotiation skills, is essential to achieve outcomes through joint working. Solution-focused, you will have experience of working with people at different levels within an organisation and complex information.
