SEN English and Literacy Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN English and Literacy Teacher to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. In this role, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the educational journey of students with special educational needs by helping them improve their literacy skills through targeted interventions and personalized learning plans.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English and literacy lessons tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs. You will implement targeted interventions and personalized learning plans to support literacy development, using a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver English and literacy lessons for students with special educational needs
- Implement targeted interventions and personalized learning plans to support literacy development
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate improvement
- Collaborate with the SEN team and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English and literacy, preferably to students with special educational needs
- Strong knowledge of effective literacy intervention strategies and personalized learning approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for helping students succeed
- A clear DBS check and legal right to work in the UK
