We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Team Leader to join our established team in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to oversee a team of underwriters while managing a portfolio to deliver our company's strategy and performance.
The ideal candidate will have exposure to cargo, construction, and engineering products, as well as previous experience in supervising a team. You will work with underwriters to develop strong relationships across the regional market, delivering a profitable and balanced growth.
Key responsibilities include using technical underwriting expertise to guide less experienced staff, managing workloads and referrals, and providing guidance to build knowledge. Hybrid working will be available, with an expectation to be present due to the nature of the role.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Technical underwriting expertise
- Experience in supervising a team
- Strong relationships across the regional market
- Ability to manage workloads and referrals
- Good organisational skills
