We are seeking a highly motivated and committed social worker to join our fostering service in Tameside. As a Childcare Social Work Professional, you will be responsible for securing plans of permanency for children in our care and contributing to the wider offer for cared-for children.
This role requires a strong understanding of relationship strengths-based social work with children and families, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage carers and build robust relationships. You will be part of a dynamic team that operates in a duty system to help find emergency placements for children and be involved in problem-solving across services.
Key responsibilities include working closely with foster carers, assessing their suitability, and providing regular supervision and training to ensure they meet the needs of the children in their care. Additionally, you will contribute to multi-agency working, collaborating with other professionals to achieve improved outcomes for children and their families.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a social worker, sound interpersonal skills, and a passion for making a difference to the lives of children, young people, and families. Excellent communication skills, combined with the ability to develop positive relationships with children, agencies, and other professionals, are essential for this role.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, committed, and passionate about delivering high-quality social work practice.
