About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Newham. As an integral member of our staff, you will work closely with passionate educators and support staff to ensure students with special educational needs receive high-quality care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused support to students with SEMH needs, including those managing ADHD and other behavioural challenges.
  • Offer adaptable support across Key Stages 1 and 2, tailoring assistance to suit each student's unique learning requirements.
  • Help foster a welcoming and positive learning space where every student feels encouraged.
  • Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to develop and deliver individualised support plans and interventions.
  • Develop trusting relationships with students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection is essential.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Any relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or child development are desirable.
