About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team in London, where you will be working with a sports analytics company that provides solutions to clients in the iGaming industry. Your primary focus will be on developing and improving betting and prediction models using data analysis and statistical techniques.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that involve researching ways to improve our modelling approaches for football matches. You will also be responsible for turning your insights into practical solutions that can be deployed to production.

Our ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, an interest in football and betting/prediction problems, and the ability to communicate complex statistical analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £70,000 - £90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to proactively identify challenges and propose solutions
  • Interest in football and betting/prediction problems
  • Ability to make pragmatic and sensible choices about what data analysis and modelling approaches to use
  • Flair for communicating statistical analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modelling
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Programming experience, preferably with Python

For senior candidates, we are looking for individuals with 3+ years of practical data science experience, project management skills, extensive knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning techniques, strong programming skills, and experience working with other data scientists on a collaborative codebase.
