About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Upper GI Nurse Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for autonomously performing specialist nurse procedures in line with Trust protocols and NMC guidance. You will provide advice on the care of individuals or groups of patients, manage physical assets and supplies, and contribute to the development of corporate nursing strategies.

You will also represent the Trust at external events, networking with professional colleagues to promote the Trust and benchmark practice with peers.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Undertake clinical audit projects, including monitoring MDT standards and appropriateness and timeliness of urgent suspect cancer referrals.
  • Contribute to the improvement of communication between primary and secondary care through project management.
Person Specification
  • Relevant post-registration experience at Band 6 or above in cancer/palliative care/gastroenterology.
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care/gastroenterology.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Advanced Communication Skills training.
  • Non-medical prescribing.
