Credit Controller Job Description

Lambert Smith Hampton (NIreland) Ltd is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team. As a key member of our Property Management Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of our credit control processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out credit control activities with respect to tenants in arrears, including contacting tenants via various communication channels and maintaining comprehensive records of credit control activity.
  • Proactively manage the credit control process across assigned portfolios to maximise coverage and follow-through.
  • Work closely with Property Managing Surveyors and clients to identify and resolve issues hindering payment.
  • Report internally on tenant arrears and externally to clients per agreed bespoke reports.
  • Issue invoices, client statements, final demands, and seven-day letters, and assist with the pursuit of outstanding amounts through to small claims or other legal proceedings where required.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload and schedule tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Client-service focused.
  • Ability to proactively find solutions to problems.
Essential Criteria:
  • Experience of carrying out credit control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Proven ability to deliver a high level of client service.
  • Proven ability to manage own workload and work independently.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high quality, error free work.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs grades A to C or equivalent, to include Mathematics and English.
Desirable Criteria:
  • 2+ years experience of carrying out credit control.
  • Experience of working in Commercial Property or Property Management.
  • Experience using MRI Qube & YARDI estate management software packages.
