Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our team at O'Halloran & O'Brien Ltd. As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret working plans and steel lists to accurately understand project requirements.
  • Set out work according to instructions, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Cut steel bars or mesh to the required length using power saws.
  • Assemble reinforcing bars or mesh by tying them into predetermined locations within the concrete.
  • Prefabricate steel reinforcement for beams, cages, pile caps, columns, and walls.
  • Join prefabricated units together for large sections of high-rise or civil projects and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Steel Fixing qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience in steel fixing.
  • Preferably 2 years of experience in steel fixing.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Ability to work in a flexible and adaptable manner as part of a team.
  • Willingness to attend training programs to increase individual skills and knowledge.
