About the Role

LGC is seeking a highly skilled Technology Transfer Manager to join our Grant Management Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commercialisation of intellectual property assets and promoting industrial engagement by researchers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects related to IP management and commercialisation, working closely with legal and patent subcontractors to resolve complex issues.
  • Gather data and provide analysis to support the development of business cases for IP commercialisation, facilitating and delivering core training for researchers on IP and commercialisation.
  • Work with internal and external legal advice to review collaboration agreement issues, ensuring appropriate management of IP for specific cases.
  • Support other team members with technology transfer activities, promoting industrial partnerships and managing the reagents portfolio.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in life sciences with an additional qualification in business or law (advantageous) or comparable experience.
  • Significant experience of working in a technology transfer role to commercialise complex IP and patent portfolios.
  • Experience of commercialisation of intellectual property in the medical and life sciences area, negotiating commercialisation licences and spin out creation with a wide range of end users.
  • Ability to communicate complex information regarding intellectual property and commercialisation to a range of audiences.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of a customer-facing service role with a wide range of active projects.
  • Experience of working with external legal counsel and patent agents to resolve issues and ensure effective protection of IP assets.
  • Experience of delivering IP-related training to scientists.
