About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Claims Consultant to join our team at Direct Line Group. As a key member of our Motability Large & Complex Loss team, you will be responsible for leading high-value claims to resolution and shaping excellence in claims handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of catastrophic injury and complex claims, conducting thorough investigations and negotiating settlements.
  • Provide guidance and advice to various areas within Direct Line Group, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to the development of technical claims handling skills through coaching and training, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.
  • Play a role in shaping the large loss claims handling strategy within DLG and represent the company on industry bodies or review groups.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in handling large and complex loss claims within the motor insurance sector.
  • In-depth understanding of common law principles and legislation relevant to motor insurance claims.
  • Handling authority limit of up to £1 million, indicating the capability to autonomously manage high-value claims and make informed decisions within delegated limits.
  • Strategic mindset to contribute to the development of large and complex loss claims handling strategies within the organisation.
