Automotive Facilities Technician

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Facilities Technician to join our team at Expleo, a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services and management consulting for digital transformation.
The ideal candidate will have broad-based experience in manufacturing and represent the Engineering Department in all aspects of designing, developing, and implementing solutions to control dynamic battery manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Manufacturing Operations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems and support manufacturing operations.
- Project Manage Control System Projects: Oversee the delivery of control system projects through appointed system integrators, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- System Installation and Troubleshooting: Support the installation, commissioning, in-service troubleshooting, and modification of systems, leveraging expertise in PLC programming and SCADA applications.
- Software Implementation: Implement control software and perform verification using simulation tools and real-time test environments.
- Sourcing and Supply Chain Management: Liaise with suppliers to source effective hardware or software solutions that meet business needs.
- Safety Documentation: Support project-specific safety documentation to relevant standard requirements, including IEC61508, IEC61511, and EN ISO 13849.
- Programming and System Design: Demonstrate excellence in programming PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications, supporting system concept design, including drafting diagrams and sourcing components.
- Education and Experience: Degree/HND/HNC and/or 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical/Control Engineering.
- PLC Programming Expertise: Professional experience in PLC programming, including Mitsubishi, Siemens, and BECKHOFF platforms.
- Structured Software Programming: Experience in structured software programming to a recognised standard in LDR, ST/SCL, and FBD logic.
- SCADA and Network Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of modern SCADA platforms and a good working knowledge of network design.
- Planning and Project Management: Planning, schedule control, and project management skills.
- Electrical Systems and Software Engineering: Strong understanding of the design principles related to electrical systems and software engineering.
- Mass-Manufacturing Automatic Systems: Knowledge of mass-manufacturing automatic systems, including experience with motion, vision, robotic, and sensing technologies, and the associated data acquisition of those systems.
This role is based at our client's site in Sunderland and can be offered on either a contract or permanent basis. The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
