Job Title: Lead Process Safety Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Process Safety Engineer to lead and facilitate process hazard reviews, conduct risk studies, and develop global process safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering, significant work experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or chemical industries, and expertise in fire protection, loss prevention, and process safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and/or facilitate process hazard reviews to ensure adequate existing safeguards and recommend additional safeguards as required.
  • Conduct specialized risk studies, including quantified risk analysis, to support company risk assessment and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and conduct global process safety standards, tools, programs, training courses, and work processes to improve process safety performance.
  • Deliver life safety or loss prevention design, including fire protection philosophy and review of fire and gas detection systems.
  • Provide process safety support and recommend optimal solutions to the region's engineering, operating, and commercial teams.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Significant work experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or chemical industries in fire protection, loss prevention, process safety, or plant engineering.
  • Experience in fire protection is critical to this role.
  • Working knowledge of PHA software, such as PHAWorks, PHAPro, and PHAST.
  • Good leadership skills, engineering problem-solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and passion for process safety.
