On-Call Firefighter RoleSuffolk County Council is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our emergency response service as On-Call Firefighters. As a vital part of our team, you will provide critical support to our communities, responding to fires, road traffic collisions, and other emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency calls and provide fire and rescue services
- Work collaboratively with other emergency services and teams
- Participate in regular training and drills to maintain skills and knowledge
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and guidelines
- Minimum 18 years old
- Live or work within 5-8 minutes of a fire station in Suffolk
- Hold a full UK driving license and access to personal transport
- Have a reasonable level of personal fitness
- Be able to work well in a team and develop skills independently
- Annual salary (retainer fee) paid monthly, plus hourly rate and disturbance fee for attending incidents
- Hourly fee for attending drill nights and training courses
- Contribution to the new Firefighter's pension scheme
- Issued with a uniform and personal protective equipment
