Job Title: Category Buyer

At Innovus, we are seeking a skilled Category Buyer to join our Procurement team. As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing category strategies that deliver value for money and high-quality solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Category Manager in developing and implementing category strategies, mobilizing framework suppliers, and demobilizing non-framework suppliers.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and maintain stakeholder maps.
  • Develop and document implementation plans, including business requirements analysis and quantified value for money targets.
  • Work with Legal, Technical, Health & Safety, and Operations stakeholders to develop and implement rigorous contracts for critical, strategic, and preferred suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier segmentation and develop preferred supplier listings with approved product/service lists.
  • Manage supplier contracts and conduct regular performance management with preferred suppliers.
  • Engage stakeholders and suppliers to understand issues or concerns and provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and information on categories.

  • Internal departments and key executives
  • External businesses and organizations, particularly key suppliers and clients
  • Key influencers (internal and external)

Qualifications:

  • Member/Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
  • Studying towards MCIPS and/or Graduate

Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Experience of category management and developing category strategies, managing sourcing events, negotiations, contract management, deployment, and supplier relationship management.
    • Experience of managing/supporting communications across multiple business functions/stakeholders.
    • Experience working within a changing and fast-paced environment with demanding business objectives.
  • Desirable:
    • 1-3 years procurement/procurement operations/category experience.
    • Supply market knowledge and experience of spend category.
    • Demonstrates track record in supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management delivering value for money, cost, and/or revenue targets.
    • Demonstrates track record of developing and maintaining stakeholder and supplier relationships.
    • Experience of organizing/managing data and producing performance analysis.

  • Project management skills
  • Excel
