About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil and Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design team at Cavendish Nuclear. As a key member of our team, you will play a leading role in the design of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures for defence, nuclear decommissioning, and nuclear new build projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of complex structures, including seismic design, and provide technical leadership and expertise to the team.
  • Deliver nuclear design work, inspections, and construction site support on projects for public and private sector clients in the UK and overseas.
  • Conduct concept and feasibility studies for multi-discipline design projects, and analyze and design using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot.
  • Prepare calculations, CDM activities, basis of design, material specifications, scopes of work, technical reports, and inter-discipline design coordination and supervision.
  • Manage project delivery and people management of Senior CS&A Engineers and CS&A Engineers.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.
  • Essential experience of the Principal CS&A Engineer, with a degree-qualified Civil/Structural Engineer and Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership of ICE or IstructE, or working towards.
  • Awareness and experience of using the latest design codes and standards, and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory standards.
