Job Title: Senior Environment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environment Specialist to join our team at AWE plc. As a key member of our environmental team, you will play a critical role in supporting our construction projects and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a unique and challenging organisation, where you will have the chance to develop and progress your career in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Senior Environment Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and managing the interface/relationship with internal and external regulators/stakeholders.
  • Producing technical documents/requirements in support of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensuring compliance with relevant permit requirements.
Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Environment Specialist, you will be expected to:

  • Act as the 'intelligent customer' for environmental issues for specific areas across the management hierarchy.
  • Promote the sustainability vision and embed it into everyday working practices.
  • Provide timely and accurate environmental specialist advice to ensure compliance and improve environmental performance.
  • Derive and analyse environmental performance metrics.
  • Undertake walkthroughs inspections, audits and investigations.
  • Seek opportunities for improvements and learn from experience.
