Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Secondary SEMH provision in Northenden, South Manchester. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, providing mentorship and academic support to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Support students with attendance issues, helping them to reintegrate into the school community.
- Collaborate with the ARC team to develop and implement attendance plans.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and other support staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of students and the school.
- Knowledge of child development, learning theories, and special educational needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A competitive daily rate of £95.
- A full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, term-time only.
