We are seeking an experienced Governance and Risk Manager to join our team at Incommunities. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader to oversee the delivery of an effective Governance and Risk Management service.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the delivery of an effective Governance and Risk Management Service.
  2. Support the Head of Regulation and Assurance in ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, including being 'IDA ready.'
  3. Provide governance advisory services to support the Head of Regulation and Assurance in ensuring compliance with internal governing instruments and terms of reference.
  4. Ensure the delivery of an effective meeting management service for the Board, Board Committees, and Executive Management Team.
  5. Implement the Board training and development programme, as well as the Board effectiveness framework, including annual Board appraisals and Board effectiveness reviews.
  6. Deliver an effective risk management function, identifying and monitoring business and operational risks, and reporting to the Risk and Assurance Group.
  7. Ensure fit-for-purpose business continuity plans are in place and subject to routine testing and review.
  8. Process insurance claims in a timely manner and report to the Executive and Board, including budget impact.
  9. Ensure the annual audit plan is followed as approved by the Audit and Risk Committee, and an effective end-to-end internal audit process is carried out.
  10. Manage the governance and risk budgets, acting within delegated authority, and ensure spend stays within budget.

About you

  • You will have proven management experience and be passionate about building a high-performing team to deliver positive outcomes for our customers.
  • You will understand the significance of governing instruments and be able to advise senior leaders on these.
  • You will understand the importance of providing relevant assurance to the Board and Board Committees.

Requirements

  1. You will have a relevant governance qualification or equivalent, with a risk qualification or working towards one being desirable.
  2. You will be able to interpret and process complex policy documents and legislation.
  3. You will have proven experience of dealing with senior leaders and Directors, building strong working relationships and cross-functionality in a governance environment.
  4. You will have attention to detail and be able to work as a team player.
  5. You will have experience of managing teams and flexibility to work out of hours as and when needed.
  6. You will be able to forward plan and advise on policy and guidance.
  7. You will be able to constructively challenge senior leaders and Directors in a positive way.
