Job SummaryThis is a part-time permanent position, working 16 hours per week, with a requirement to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. We are also looking for Dental Nurses to join our Bank for ad-hoc shifts. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the restorative, paediatric dental, and orthodontic team in delivering a high-quality service.
- Prepare and assist in clinics, giving pre and post-operative instructions, and carrying out clinical tasks such as taking dental impressions when required.
- Provide dental nursing care for paediatric dental patients with complex medical history, behavioural special needs, or dental trauma.
- Assist clinicians with examination and treatment of patients, anticipating their needs and meeting these to provide a high-quality service with optimal efficiency.
- Perform cross-infection control procedures and dispose of clinical and non-clinical waste appropriately.
- Prepare impressions and appliances for transfer to the in-house orthodontic laboratory.
- Complete patient documentation and records as appropriate.
- Maintain good communication and liaison with clinical, nursing, office, and laboratory staff to ensure clinics are conducted effectively and efficiently.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Dental Nurse with the following essential qualifications and experience:
- National Examining Board Certificate for Dental Nurses or equivalent.
- General Dental Council Registration.
- Previous work experience as a Dental Nurse.
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- National Examining Board Certificate in Dental Radiography.
- A Certificate of Competency in Dental Impression Taking.
- Diploma in Specialist Orthodontic Nursing.
- Previous work with children.
