Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Ware, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEN. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, adapting your teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEN in a one-on-one or small group setting, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance required to thrive academically and emotionally.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers to implement specialised education plans and strategies designed to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
  • Working closely with SENCOs and other school staff to develop and implement personalised learning goals and interventions.
  • Monitoring student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and caregivers as necessary.
  • Assisting with the implementation of sensory integration techniques and other therapeutic interventions as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the academic and social development of students with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and caregivers.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
