About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic and friendly team in South East Wales.

The successful candidate will work with older adults presenting with communication and/or eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties due to dementia or functional mental health difficulties.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of our SLT services for this patient population, enhancing and delivering targeted offers for communication and eating, drinking, and swallowing provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical advice to maximise and support patients' speech, language, and communication strengths.
  • Contribute to providing dementia-friendly mealtime experiences, ensuring eating, drinking, and swallowing needs are efficiently identified and managed.
  • Offer specialist speech, language, and communication assessments, support others to implement communication care plans, and contribute to the design and delivery of projects improving communication environments.

Requirements
  • Speech and Language Therapy Degree
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Experience of performing and analysing complex assessments and significant postgraduate experience in speciality services

We welcome applications from English and/or Welsh speakers, and the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
