Position Summary:
As an Animal Technician, your main responsibility will be to assist in the daily care and welfare of animals within our clients' facilities. If you hold a home office license, you may also engage in regulated activities. Additional tasks will be available for those with pertinent experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about the latest developments in animal technology and suggest new protocols as necessary.
- Demonstrate the qualities of an exemplary animal technician.
- Perform daily husbandry, care, and welfare assessments for all animals in the facility.
- As a Personal Licensee under the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, oversee experimental procedures within the framework of Project Licences at the establishment. Collaborate with licensees to comprehend their needs.
- Make observations, maintain precise records, and document data in written or electronic formats.
- Contribute to the overall upkeep of the facility and monitor and log environmental conditions in designated areas.
- Utilize equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with responsibilities in other sections of the Biological Resources Unit, as required.
