Job Description

Mechanical and Electrical Preconstruction Director

Our client, a renowned contractor in the UK, is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Director to lead their M&E preconstruction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bid function, including client engagement and estimating team management.
  • Assess internal and external risks, as well as client risk.
  • Chair strategy meetings on bid approaches.
  • Oversee bid management, including internal and external meetings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Assess project risk levels.
  • Produce tender settlement books and present to directors for sign-off.
  • Resolve post-tender queries.
  • Lead a team of estimators in preparing estimates and cost planning for a portfolio of projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
