About the Role

As a Renewable Energy Project Developer at Ørsted, you will play a key role in shaping the future of renewable energy. This exciting opportunity involves leading the engagement with landowners and communities to help originate new renewable energy projects and build on existing relationships where there is an established presence.

In this role, you will be part of Project Development UK, where you, together with your colleagues, will lead one of three key disciplines in the OLE Life Cycle: Origination, Land, or Estates within the UK and Ireland. You will manage the sourcing of land for development opportunities across a range of Onshore Wind, Solar, BESS and PtX power projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee land acquisition, management, due diligence, and stakeholder relations, and develop and implement land assembly and management strategies in the UK and Ireland.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, dispute resolution, and land contract negotiations, as well as manage payments, consultant management, budgeting, and internal advice.
  • SUPPORT THE HEAD OF ORIGINATION, LAND & ESTATES IN OPTIMISING, DIGITISING, AND AUTOMATING OLE WORKING PRACTICES.
  • Provide advice and resources to key internal stakeholders and projects on various renewable energy initiatives.
  • Build and reinforce strong relationships with external stakeholders, incl. landowners, solicitors, and land agents.
  • Maintain effective communication and transparency of deliverables and risks with all internal stakeholders and ensure smooth transition of information through the land delivery cycle.

The Ideal Candidate

You will possess significant experience in the acquisition and management of complex land and property interests. You will have demonstrable project management expertise for delivering major projects. You will be familiar with UK and Ireland energy markets, local and national policy, and the commercial rental landscape. You will have a clear perception of the onshore renewables market, emphasising commercial markets and landowner engagement.

Location and Field of Work

This role is based in Edinburgh, GB, Cork, IE, London, GB, and requires occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland. The field of work is Strategy and business development. As a hybrid employee, you will split your time between working from home and our offices.
