Key Responsibilities:

  1. Integrate the European approval process into the current vehicle approval process.
  2. Obtain ECWVTA, NSSTA, or IVA for specified products.
  3. Assess the impact of legislation and regulations on the design, manufacture, and use of buses in various countries.
  4. Obtain approvals for countries where the Company targets vehicle placement.
  5. Identify the approvals required for associated products.
  6. Ensure that New Product Developments and associated materials are compliant with National and UN/EU Regulations.
  7. Appraise vehicle tenders and specifications to ensure valid approvals.
  8. Regularly assess the requirements of National and UN/EU Regulations and take necessary actions.
  9. Write procedures associated with approval processes.
  10. Complete and submit documentation for approval submissions.
  11. Catalogue approval documentation in a secure format.
  12. Liaise with departments to resolve issues related to National and UN/EU Regulations.
  13. Organise and attend tests to obtain formal approvals.
  14. Work with the Quality department to maintain CoP approval.
  15. Assess and develop the Stage 6 Inspection process.
  16. Undertake relevant training and provide training to others.
  17. Perform other duties conducive to the effective operation of the post.
  18. Adhere to General Data Protection and maintain confidentiality.
  19. Ensure work meets the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.
  20. Treat others with courtesy and respect.
  21. Adhere to the Equal Opportunities Policy.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Engineering Company.
  • Practical working knowledge of product/component compliance.
  • Knowledge of efficient quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
  • Practical use of 2D CAD systems.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings.
  • Ability to document reports in well-written English.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literate with MS Office skills.
  • Theoretical knowledge of good engineering disciplines.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly organised and meticulous.
  • Self-managed.
  • Good attendance and timekeeping.
  • Good disciplinary record.
  • Willing to work overtime.
  • Willing to travel.

Desirable:

  • Experience in ECWVTA and VTP5 process.
  • Level 4 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the bus, coach, or automotive industry.
  • Previous exposure to vehicle and/or system-related regulations.
  • Previous experience in compliance or quality assurance-based roles.
  • Practical use of 3D CAD systems.
  • Good at building professional relationships.
