Job Overview

Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is partnering with a pioneering sustainable packaging organization to find a talented Packaging Development Engineer to drive innovation and growth within their business.

This exciting opportunity will see you lead the development of cutting-edge, eco-friendly packaging solutions, supporting the company's expansion into new markets.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer with a strong background in packaging materials and applications, as well as a passion for sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Management: Oversee climate chamber testing, ensuring continuous improvement and ISTA accreditation within a specified timeframe.
  • Packaging Development: Design and develop innovative packaging solutions, focusing on Phase Change Materials (PCM) and other sustainable technologies.
  • Sustainability: Lead projects aimed at creating environmentally friendly packaging solutions, aligned with the company's corporate sustainability goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all packaging meets stringent quality standards, adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
  • Market Expansion: Provide technical support for market growth and customer presentations, highlighting the company's innovative packaging solutions.
  • Reporting: Regularly update the QA Manager on project progress and market trends, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific/engineering field.
  • Proven experience in packaging engineering, with a focus on sustainable materials and technologies.
  • CAD design or thermal modeling software experience, with a strong understanding of ISTA/ANFOR standards and climate chamber testing.
  • Knowledge of developing PCM solutions and other sustainable packaging technologies.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in the Cold Chain, Pharmaceutical, Packaging, or FMCG sectors is highly desirable.
