Job Description

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our finance department. This includes:

  • Raising and reviewing sales invoices.
  • Processing purchase invoices and maintaining accurate records.
  • Adding new supplier/customer details to our database.
  • Calculating VAT on purchases and managing related documentation.
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and maintaining cash flow records.
  • Raising credit and debit notes for stock or VAT discrepancies.
  • Providing holiday cover within the finance team.
  • Managing credit card processing and maintaining the credit control sheet.
  • Supporting with general administration, filing, and incoming post.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2-3 years of experience in an Accounts Assistant role.
  • A strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills.
  • Calm under pressure and skilled in negotiation.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive 'can-do' attitude.
