About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Graduate to join our team as a Special Needs Education Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in supporting children with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will be working closely with qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, and other professionals to deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a small class of students and make a real difference to their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
  • Build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Meet the individual needs of students through practical approaches
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
  • Personal care support
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

Requirements:

No previous experience is required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN. Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £90 - £110 per day, paid term time only. As a member of our team, you will also receive excellent benefits and opportunities for professional development.
