Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our educational team. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have special educational needs, providing tailored support and adapting lessons to cater to their individual learning styles.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for modifying lesson plans, managing behaviour effectively, and working on a 1:1 basis with students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Modifying lesson plans to suit various abilities and learning styles.
  • Managing behaviour effectively using visual aids and consistent routines.
  • Working on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and across the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children who have special educational needs, as well as experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and speech and language delays.

A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach is essential, as well as clear communication skills and the ability to work within a team.

Salary Information

The salary for this position is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, inclusive of the 12.07% PAYE holiday allowance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children who have special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting students with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, PDA, and speech and language delays.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
