SEN Learning Mentor Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SEN Learning Mentor to provide academic and emotional support to students with complex needs in our secondary school in Enfield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Help students develop essential skills, including problem-solving, resilience, and self-regulation.
  • Work with external agencies and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to supporting students with varying needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable.
  • A DBS check is required.
