About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at DN Colleges Group. As a Catering Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation, cooking, and baking of food, working closely with the Diner Cook to ensure high-quality dishes are served to our customers.
  • Kitchen and Dining Area Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are always clean and tidy, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Organize staffing to ensure smooth operation of Front of House catering outlets, ensuring that our customers receive excellent service.
  • Customer Service: Be visible and approachable during service periods, with a thorough knowledge of the food items sold, and provide excellent customer service to our customers.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively as a positive member of the catering team, providing support and guidance to colleagues as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary paperwork in line with legislation, and report customer requests and complaints promptly to the Catering Manager.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training the catering team, and cover for the Diner Cook when necessary, ensuring that our team is equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Work flexibly across various College sites, and support the wider Estates and Facilities Department as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in Food Preparation and Service: Experience in food preparation, cooking, and service, with a strong understanding of food hygiene and safety.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and manage staff effectively.
  • Personal Qualities: A smart, clean appearance, with a friendly, pleasant, and professional manner, excellent timekeeping, and a methodical approach to workload.
