About the TeamOur in-house Garment Technologist team operates in a dynamic environment, collaborating with suppliers across the Far East, Europe, and the UK to source and develop high-quality, trend-driven products for our customers. Reporting to the Senior Garment Technologist, you will ensure our products meet quality standards, are fit for purpose, and are safe for sale, while also optimizing speed to market, sales, and profitability, and minimizing markdowns through reduced returns.
About the RoleWe are excited to offer a position for an experienced Junior Apparel Technologist. In this role, you will concentrate on the following key areas:
- Overseeing clothing product development from initial fit to production across multiple clothing categories, collaborating closely with internal design teams, buying, merchandising, and suppliers to create outstanding products.
- Establishing strong relationships with trading teams, sourcing hub colleagues, and suppliers to devise strategies for improvement and maximize success.
- Gaining an understanding of departmental critical paths, supply chains, and trading calendars.
- Acquiring knowledge of UK/EU regulations to ensure all new products comply with legal standards.
- Supporting technologists and the global product compliance team in managing supplier quality issues as needed.
We seek a candidate with prior experience at this level who possesses the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in clothing product development from initial fit to production within the fashion industry, demonstrating an ability to develop a product range with consistent fit and quality while collaborating with designers and suppliers.
- Familiarity with grading and sizing regulations.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills to assess returns data effectively.
- Understanding of manufacturing defects and strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Awareness of supply chain challenges, including lead times, flexibility, and supplier capabilities.
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
