Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior IAM Engineer to lead our Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy and drive its implementation across SSE's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and strategic vision to establish a Centre of Excellence capable of delivering our IAM roadmap.

This role requires a deep understanding of IAM concepts, technologies, and directory services, including Microsoft EntraID, Okta, and Ping. You will work closely with the Group Architecture functions to ensure compliance with SSE standards and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with prominent cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including the implementation of authentication, authorization, and security controls. You will also be responsible for overseeing the selection, implementation, and maintenance of IAM technologies and ensuring their integration with existing IT infrastructure.

In this role, you will identify, mature, and develop enhancements to existing IAM policies, processes, and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. You will also provide technology governance and support health and hygiene deliverables to reduce operational risk across core platforms such as Active Directory domains.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic vision to modernize Identity and Access Management within SSE. This includes delivering enhancement controls and greater governance for Privileged Access Management.

Requirements
  • Deep understanding of IAM concepts, technologies, and directory services
  • Hands-on experience with prominent cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of privileged access management (PAM) sufficient to facilitate and monitor success of PAM requirements, projects, and vendor selection
  • Strong technical leadership and strategic vision skills
