About the Role

The Aerospace Policy Adviser plays a pivotal role in representing and supporting the UK's aerospace industry. Managing critical policy issues and industry input into the UK Government and other stakeholders' aviation priorities, climate change and environmental policies, and aviation safety regulations, this role helps to establish aerospace policy priorities and ensures they are supported by a strong evidential base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead policy engagement with officials in the Department for Business and Trade, the Department for Transport, and the Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Provide data, analysis, and advice to member companies on the industrial contribution of UK Aerospace.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of domestic and international aerospace policy.
  • Collaborate with ADS teams to drive policy initiatives and support member companies.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders to coordinate policy efforts and drive results.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Sound domestic and international aerospace policy understanding.
  • EU and international aerospace policy understanding.
  • High levels of analytical, presentational, and written skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT and other executive support skills.
  • Sound political judgement and diplomacy skills.
  • Coordination skills and willingness to engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Creative approaches to issues affecting member companies.
  • Responsiveness to members and stakeholders.
  • General understanding of the work of all ADS Sectors.
  • Must be able to obtain DBS clearance.

Contract and Benefits

Contract: Permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: Hybrid working - 3 days in the London Head Office and 2 days from home.
